As a Mortgage Financial Service Officer (MFSO), you create relationships and learn about our members’ lives and financial challenges. You must have the unique ability to look beyond the credit score, placing value on individual circumstances, and help members achieve their financial goals.

The ideal candidate will understand and believe in the cooperative principles and have a strong desire to educate consumers on the credit union difference by working with them in a friendly and mutually beneficial sales and service environment.

MFSO will maintain thorough knowledge of consumer and mortgage lending programs, procedures, policies and regulatory requirements.  Comply with all Federal and State compliance policies and demonstrates a commitment to professional ethics. The MFSO works directly with correspondent lenders and lending staff to coordinate the processing and closing of the member’s loan application.  The MFSO must have the ability to maintain effective communication with the member and correspondent partner to insure coordination of information and documentation for loan approval and closing. 

Must be knowledgeable to cross-sell all credit union products and services independently. Responsible for ensuring the financial stability and the member experience commensurate with the best interest of the members, the employees, and the credit union.  Responsible for organizing, recommending and implementing operational guidance for lending, collections, sales and service related activities of the credit union in accordance with the direction of the credit union strategic plans. 

Experience and Education:  Minimum of five years’ of advanced lending; consumer and mortgage experience with a focus on secondary market real estate lending and 2-3 years of sales and service experience in a related field.  A university degree from an accredited university with major work in economics, finance, business or accounting. Formal training should be supplemented with continuing education. Additional qualifying experience credit may be considered in lieu of the required university education.

Work Environment:  The position is scheduled during credit union business hours. Business office hours are Monday through Thursday 8:45 am to 4:45pm, Friday, 8:45 am to 6:15 pm and rotating Saturdays from 8:45 am-12:15 pm.  Requires the ability to work flexible hours. The position is a desk assignment that requires limited physical effort. The position calls for a high degree of mental concentration to interpret and act upon a wide range of situations and a high degree of attention to detail.

Based on experience this  full-time position includes a base salary range $35K-$55K plus bonus, incentives, 401K, medical, AFLAC, vacation, sick time, holidays and the opportunity to become part of an enthusiastic and supporting team.
